This vehicle is outstanding enough without thinking about the stereo system, however once the novalty wears off there is only one choice in my opinion and that is the fully packed Pioneer AVIC-F9220BT 2DIN DVD with Navigation & Bluetooth.

The stereo is exactly the same shape as the original Ford radio and fits seemlessly into the dash.

The wiring is prepared for a direct plug into the ford loom, which keeps the vehicle warranty in tact and there is no need for splicing into any wires.

The steering controls are also retained, but be aware that you loose the Ford voice reconition, but lets be honest how often is that really used!

The customer also wanted to add some bass to the sound so we added one of the new Alpine PDX-M6 600w watt digital mono amplifers. These are extremely powerful for the compact size and work well with an Alpine SWR 1242D dual voice coil subwoofer in a purpose built vented box.

Installation looked like a factory finish.

The Alpine PDX-M6 and Alpine SWR 1242d looked neat.

Unfortunately the standard BMW stereo doesn’t offer any flashy bells and whistles, so we installed the Kenwood DNX-7260bt with KTC-D500E digital TV tuner. We used the new Connects 2 CT23BM01 double-din facia panel. The heater controls sit lower down and the screen can tilt to the desired angle.

We were able to retain the front and rear sensors with the connects 2 CAN-Bus Front & Rear parking alert generator, part number CTRBM001.

We also retained the steering controls with yet another Connects 2 part.  part number CTSBM005. Aerial adapter CT27AA16 is also needed. 

The KTC-D500E digital TV tuner integrates perfectly with the 7260bt as every option is available from the touchscreen. you can even change the TV channel up and down from the steering controls.

Today we installed a Parrot MKi-9100 car kit with a Connects2 CT10CT01 SOT lead into a 2008 Citroen C4 Picasso. The customer had recently purchased an iPhone 3Gs and wanted to keep the original stereo and still be able to play his music and have Bluetooth capabilities. This Parrot MKi-9100 has three visible parts on display 1. Dual Microphone 2. Steering remote control 3. Display panel

As you can see from the pictures this looks very neat with no wires on show. The Connects2 CT10CT01 lead allows simple connection behind the factory radio without the need to cut or splice any wires.

JVC are coming out out with some very immpressive Multi-media units at the moment, and the KW-NT1E is definately one of the best. The great benefit of this unit is the front panel is removable for added security, which i think when you are spending that sort of money is very important.

This JVC KW-NT1 is fully compatible with the latest iPods / iPhone. KWNT1 allows you to control your iPod / iPhone using the touch screen. The built in Bluetooth is not just a handsfree phone it. It also lets you receive text message notifications on the screen. You can also connect other music source via the USB port and SD card slot.

This installation of the KW-NT1E into a volkswagon golf MK5 required the following parts:

Connects 2 CTSVW002 steering control adapter which also gives a reverse wire for the nav

Connects 2 CT23VW01A Double DIN facia kit 

Connects 2 CT27AA14 Fakra Aerial to DIN Aerial with amplified remote feed

This customer wanted all his music to be played from his iPhone 3G so we added a Dension Gateway 500 to his factory Porsche headunit. He had sat nav as standard with no CD changer so the installation of the fiber optic cabling was done behind the factory headunit as he added the Dension BTA1500 this allowed him to make and receive calls via bluetooth from the headunit also the kit gave him a USB lead for USB memory sticks and A2DP technology which allows the user to stream music via bluetooth into the cars entertainment system. The Gateway 500 will allow the user full control of the phones content from either the radio or steering wheel controls.

Installed an Alpine KCE-425i video interface onto an early Pioneer multimedia headunit as pioneer dont sell anything for this option. Rather than installing a screen in either headrest this customer opted for an Xtron 7″ drop down roof monitor with a built in DVD, SD and USB adapter. We had already installed a Kenwood DNX-7240BT double din sat nav unit in the front of the vehicle. This unit allows dual zone capability which means the two rear speakers can be used for the rear screen entertainment and the front two speakers for the driver and passenger, this unit also allows the volume controls of the rear speakers to be controlled separately. Today we installed a radio CD into a 2008 Citroen C4 Picasso. The customer wanted to retain the steering control option. We used the Connects 2 part CTSCT004 with a Pioneer patch lead. It also needed CT27AA16 aerial adapter and CT27AA01. I have to say this worked first time with no problems and sounded superb also the radio cover still covered the radio.
